Many people ask how we came to be in the business of importing Markilux awnings and exterior solar screens. A few years ago we purchased a house that had extensive south and west facing decks and windows. We loved the decks and the views - perfect for indoor-outdoor entertaining and living. However, we found that we could never get the shade coverage on the deck we wanted with umbrellas. For most of the year, the decks were cooking in the sun. Even worse, when the sun hit our view windows we loved so much, it turned our house into an oven.During our travels to Europe we had many pleasant experiences enjoying meals and drinks at nice restaurants and hotels under the shade of an elegant retractable awning.
