• Our products and components are produced with drop-forged aluminum, steel or stainless steel. Competing products are made from cast parts and plastics which can result in stress fractures, breakage and shorter lifespans.
• Our larger diameter upper arms provide rigidity without adding weight, keeping optimum tension on the fabric at even maximum widths and extensions.
• Our 85mm fabric rollers, larger than any others in the industry, bend minimally for maximum tensile strength, a taut fabric cover that is more aesthetically pleasing, and smaller winding circumferences.
• Our arm mechanisms use rounded steel-link chains, gas piston technology, or our exclusive kevlar "Bionic Tendon" rather than cables used by other companies (which will fray and break over time). The bionic tendon has been independently tested to withstand over 50,000 openings and closings, enough to cover daily use for over 68 years!
• Our teflon-coated bushings provide a smoother, quieter gliding action and all bolts and screws are corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
• Our ZIP System for exterior window shades and canopies eliminate the gap between the frame and the fabric to block all light and provide extraordinary strength in windy conditions (tested up to 135 MPH!).
• In harsh marine environments that can quickly damage exterior finishes, only Markilux offers a special anti-corrosion treatment that protects brackets, arms, rails and cassettes.
